Getting Started

Creating a story with SECFans.com story editor is rather simple. First, click "Blog about something" after logging into your dashboard.

Note About Saving

Either use the "Save Draft" feature often, or better yet, create your story ahead of time in a program like MS Word. Then cut & paste your story into the story editor.

Adding Images

If you'd like to add a picture, find the picture on the web, add the location of the image to your clipboard, and then paste it into the add image pop up.

Preview Feature

To preview your story, click the preview button at the bottom. You'll see the story pop up in another window. To close preview mode and return to your story, click "close" at the top, or click in the dark areas outside of the preview story box.

Common Errors

The two most common issues that cause an error when entering a new story: adding an unlinkable picture, or your user session timing out. If you experience issues, please contact us and let us know what issue you are having. We will work with you to get your story in the system and published.

Text Decoration and Hyperlinking

If you'd like to add a hyper link or alter your text with decoration such as color, bolding, italicizing, etc, simply find the text you'd like to edit, highlight it with your cursor, and click the appropriate button in the toolbar.

Adding YouTube Video

Adding a youtube video may seem tricky but it's not. Simply find the youtube video you'd like to add from youtube.com, and copy the "embed" code provided on youtube.com. Next, locate the "HTML" button at the bottom of the story designer box on SECFans.com. Then paste the code into the box. After that, you can switch back to design view and finish your story!
